Annual Maple Syrup Producers Tour

PA sugaring season is in full swing! As is tradition, our club will be visiting several area producers to learn their methods and sample their wares. This year we'll travel west toward Potter county and aim to visit 3 producers. The following is a tentative itinerary, but folks should feel welcome to wander as they are comfortable.

*First Stop*

Hamilton's Maple at 19 Bunnell Rd Ulysses, PA (9 or 10am)

--This producer serves a pancake breakfast! We plan to tour the facility together at 10am, but anyone wishing to partake in breakfast should arrive by 9 (or maybe earlier) to get into the pancake line! Hamilton's has a really interesting maple history room furnished with artifacts.

*Second Stop*

Sunrise Maple at 5695 St Rte 349 Westfield, PA (arrive around 11:40)

--This organic producer has made some additions to its facility since our last visit! Along with offering their usual range of syrups, creams, fudges, ice cream, and vinegarettes in their retail area, this year they'll have several vendors set up at the sugar house: Sirak's smokehouse with lunch and meat, Martina Catherman with breads and pies, Dragon Fly Scents, and Rusty Goat home decor

*Third Stop*

Patterson Maple Farm at 119 Patterson Rd. Westfield, PA (Arrive around 12:45)

--The Patterson family has been sugaring for over 100 years and 4 generations, and boasts the state's largest maple syrup operation with 83,000 taps! This year local artisans Lampman Welding, Oregon Hill Winery, Hurd's Curds, Wrapped by Moonlight Jewelry, Rose Gaughan Potter, Simply Style by Lori Swimley will be set up and Bigfoot Country will broadcast live 11-1. Their retail space offers the usual maple syrups, sugar, condiments, and creams along with their own 100% grass-fed beef.
