About the Event
Join the Tioga County Woodland Owners Association as we tour Empire Evergreens, located in Erwin, NY. Empire's owner, David Weil, founded Empire Evergreens in 2003 as an extension of his landscape contracting company and as a means of preserving the family farm. He will be giving us a tour, showcasing the varieties of Christmas trees that are grown on the 190+ acres. The farm boasts over 200,000 trees ranging from 2 to 10 feet. Their trees include Fraser Fir, Balsam Fir, Canaan Fir, Douglas Fir, Concolor Fir and White Pine. David will discuss the history of the farm, his business model, the other services offered by Empire and of course, the trees. The tour will start at the entrance to the Farm.
For those who are interested, the group will be headed to Applebee's for some delicious food after the tour. All are welcome to join us. Each person is responsible for own meal(s).
